TEXTILE WORK

I belong to a wonderful group called W.H.O.A.  At our meetings we talk about a number of things but one of the things I love most is that we can share our life goals, commit to some action to achieve these goals and then be held accountable by the other talented members of the group.
One of my goals for this month is to design and make a piece of textile art and blog about it so here's what I've done so far:

1.  PERUSED SOME OF MY FAVORITE VINTAGE BOOKS FOR IDEAS.

2.  STARTED WITH A VISIT TO JO-ANN'S IN LONG BEACH (MORE STORES TO FOLLOW)

3.  DECIDING ON A COLOR SCHEME

NEXT I'LL START GOING THROUGH MY VINTAGE COLLECTION OF LACE, LINENS AND BUTTONS AND DECIDE WHAT I'M GOING TO DO WITH THEM.
STAY TUNED....

My Studio

Here's the boardroom - cutting board and inspiration board. Working on gift bags to give my customers.

A front view ~ the tulip on the bulletin board is for a quilt I'm working on.
My sewing area ~ that wall needs something!
In my sewing machine is the civil war quilt in process
Another view from my desk ~ my tv is to the left where I enjoy watching old movies as I work.

On a shelf above the window are some of my favorite vintage finds.
Here's where I find inspiration ~ Mary Englebreight and Mary Emmerling are my all time favorite.
A stack of my favorite magazines
One of my old handstitched appliques made by me
I have a Mary Englebreight drawing tacked to my studio wall ~ "Say it Loud - I'm an artist and I'm Proud!
